Acknowledgements (and Other Exciting Stuff)

Webmaster: Phil Groom

First I'd like to thank Sue, my wife (and the most wonderful woman on the planet), for her patience whilst I've worked on these sites. I know that I've pushed it to the limit sometimes (far too many late nights) — thank you for sticking with me!

Next, thanks to all those who've made contributions, offered encouragement, and given tips & suggestions: you know who you are, and without you these sites wouldn't exist (well, somebody has to share the blame).

UK Christian Bookshops Directory

The name says it all.
St.Lawrence Church
St Lawrence Church, Eastcote

The Church where Sue served her second curacy. It's a very warm and welcoming place — be sure to call in if ever you're in the area.

(Website no longer under Groomsville management).

Absolutely Mac

Absolutely Mac started out as my online freeware archive. In September 2000 I decided to reconstruct it as a public website. A non-profit-making, purely personal project (although if anyone's crazy enough to want to buy shares in it, please get in touch).

2) Site Construction Software

Groomsville websites are handcoded using BBEdit,
from Barebones Software.
If you're doing HTML on a Mac
without BBEdit, believe me, friend,
you're missing out something serious.
Go there today.

Built With BBEdit

clip2gif icon Special thanks to Yves Piguet for the amazing image converter, clip2gif.
If you can copy it to the clipboard, you can convert it to a gif with clip2gif -
and that's barely scratching the surface of clip2gif's capabilities.
It could be the only graphics program you'll ever need for the web!
Simple to use, very effective and highly efficient - but best of all, it's free.
Download it now (226k) if you'd like to try it for yourself.
Full documentation is included with the download - be sure to read it.

A few older bits of the site were initially thrown together with Netscape Composer,
but then needed a fair bit of tweaking in BBEdit to get them right...
Tedious but fun (some of us have a weird notion of fun).
Best browsers to use on this site: Safari or Firefox.
Netscape

Maintained for a while using a Blue Dalmatian iMac G3 running Mac OS X 10.3.6,
now with an iBook G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.9. Who knows where or what next?

Most of the animated gifs used in the Wild & Wacky pages (and a few used elsewhere on this site)
are courtesy of Future Publishing, distributed as royalty-free clip art on various magazine cover CD's.

Apologies to anyone who feels left out due to missing acknowledgements or any other accidental omissions — no slight intended!
Please get in touch and I'll make sure credit's given where it's due when the site's next updated.
Probably tomorrow...
